Snowbirds love Travelex’s Travel Select post-departure coverage.
Every year there is an avalanche of North American snowbirds that travel to Mexico, Costa Rica, Belize, and Panama just to get warm. Likewise, we sell an avalanche of “post-departure” Travelex Travel Select plans providing those snowbirds with first-payer ($50,000) medical coverage with no deductible and $500,000 medical evacuation.
While trip cancellation coverage is available on the Travel Select plan, many snowbirds select the post-departure coverage (no trip cancellation coverage), meaning plan benefits begin on the day they depart from home. In speaking with these customers, we often hear “we don’t need trip cancellation coverage — it’s too cold here, and we are going no matter what!”
Premiums for the Travel Select plan are very reasonable, and pre-existing medical conditions can be covered if the plan is purchased within 21 days of making your initial trip deposit or payment.
